Brianne Curran
· Violin ·

Brianne Curran is an Australian violinist and educator based in Berlin. With over twenty years of teaching experience across classical, folk, jazz and experimental traditions, she brings rare musical depth to every lesson, from a student's very first note to advanced performance work.

Born and raised in Sydney, Brianne began playing violin at age three. She has since performed across Europe, Australia and beyond, releasing recordings, touring, and collaborating with musicians across genres and borders. That breadth of experience shapes everything she brings to her teaching studio.

Trained from age three in the Suzuki tradition under Yasuki Nakamura, a direct student of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, Brianne went on to study Celtic and folk violin across Australia before graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the Australian Institute of Music in 2009.

She has since performed at festivals and venues across Europe and Australia including the Krakow Jazz Autumn Festival (Poland), Modern Music Days in Malta, and the NowNow Festival (Australia), and released recordings for the **Film and Sound Archive Australia**, and the German label **Edition Telemark**.

Every lesson is structured, personal, and built around the individual student — their pace, their goals, their way of learning. The aim is always the same: confidence, technique, and a genuine love of music that lasts a lifetime.

Brianne is also the creator of Practice Penguins — a gamified practice and progress tracking app for young learners, currently in development. It is a natural extension of her belief that practice should feel like something a student wants to do, not something they are told to do.

"Not rushing, not resting, without stopping, without haste, carefully taking one step at a time will surely bring you to your goal."
— Dr. Shinichi Suzuki
